Shipwreck

Not a good place to park a boat!! The Wongala, a vessel of 452 tonnes ran aground on Bet Reef near Warraber Island in the The Torres Strait in about 1981. It will be visible for many years to come. There are many others in “The Straits” most however underwater. It is quite amazing how far on to the reef it got and that the scar is still visible after all this time.
