Australian Rainforest – Red Cedar
Supposed to be over 1000 years old. This one was missed by the logging that occurred here a few years ago. It is about 2 1/2 metres through the trunk and about 40 or so metres high I’d guess. I thought the texture of the tree and the wavy bits of bark and stuff on it were quite beautiful. It has a little “tree creeper” bird enjoying making its living out of bugs in and around the bark. No doubt much other life makes its “living” in the micro environment of this majestic old tree as well. It is is still very alive, no dead branches or signs of decay.
